Do you and your colleagues want to have a voice at work? Do you want to have a say in working conditions? Join AFT and AFT Washington today!
Why AFT Washington?
AFT Washington represents higher education employees in community and technical colleges and regional universities, K-12 classified and paraeducators, and Head Start and early learning educators throughout the state. In addition to representing these employees at their workplace, AFT Washington has a robust legislative program to promote and advance your issues in the State Legislature and to fight for additional funding for education. We know that the most important component of high-quality education is the people who are providing the education services to students on a daily basis.
Having a union means you have...
- Respect - To be recognized as professionals at work
- Fairness - To address workplace inequities
- A Voice - A strong, unified presence at the table with your college
Other groups of professionals know the value of being part of organizations that represent their interests, such as attorneys, doctors, and even college presidents. AFT Washington is affiliated with the national AFT, which represents 1.5 million education, public, and health care professionals throughout the country, and the AFL-CIO.
