We are saddened to hear about the tragic accident involving North Seattle College students and employees which occurred today on the Aurora Bridge.
We represent the faculty and professional staff at North Seattle College and understand that two of our members were on the bus. While we wait for more information, we hold all involved in the accident in our thoughts and stand in support of the college community and family members of those injured or killed.
"North Seattle is a tightknit community and the International Student Program is a core part of that community. The loss of lives and the life-threatening injuries will be devastating for them," said AFT Washington President Karen Strickland, a former instructor at Seattle Colleges. "Our hearts go out to them and we are here to support them."
We also encourage the community to donate blood.
