We on the Executive Board are pleased to inform you of our upcoming Biennial Meeting, to be held on Saturday, May 17th, at the Hotel Murano in Tacoma. The meeting will run from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with lunch for in-person attendees, and a hybrid option for folks joining remotely. A packet with materials, including Zoom information and agenda, will be sent to registered remote attendees before the meeting; the same packet will be available at the meeting for in-person attendees.
We have invited Alex Lawson of Social Security Works and Robby Stern of Puget Sound Advocates For Retirement Action (PSARA) to speak on the grave threats to Social Security and Medicare, and what we can do to defend the programs many Americans rely on. We will also spend time planning for the next two years; we have welcomed many new members recently, and we would like to hear from you regarding workshops and other events that would be of interest to retirees over the next two years.
We will also have an election of board officers. If you are interested in being a member of the Executive Board or know of someone who is interested, please contact Cortney Marabetta. The Executive Board positions are President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and five Directors. Nominations will be accepted at the meeting, as well.
